ACCEPTANCE TESTING OF THE PROCESS INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR UNIT № 3 OF SOUTH-UKRAINE NPP HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT

In April 2019, the acceptance testing of the process information system for unit № 3 of South-Ukraine NPP was carried out at the site of PJSC “SRPA “Impulse”, the system was created within the framework of implementation of the “Complex (Consolidated) Safety Upgrade Program for NPP Units” project using credit funds from EBRD/EURATOM.

IVS is the main facility to monitor unit’s technological processes that assures centralized monitoring when controlling the main technological processes from the main control room (MCR). The following is done from MCR: reactor start-up, its putting to power, turbine start-up, generator synchronization, unit control in the normal and emergency modes, reactor and turbine planned and emergency outage, reactor facility shutdown cooling.

The aim of the acceptance testing was as follows:

  • to define if IVS meets the requirements of the design and normative documents;
  • to assess readiness of IVS to be supplied to NPP to be installed and commissioned.

Based on the results of the acceptance testing, the commission consisting of representatives of SUNPP, State Enterprise “Kharkov Scientific-Research Institute of Integrated Automation”, State Scientific and Technical Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety and PJSC “SRPA “Impulse” stated that the system submitted for the testing meets the design, operational, software documentation, the requirements of the terms of reference completely and is ready to be supplied to unit 3 of South-Ukraine NPP.

SRPA “Impulse” is a leading Ukrainian designer, manufacturer, and supplier of highly-reliable instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power engineering and railways.
